Hi! Thank you for coming to our Crowdrise page! We are Chrissie Nelson Rotko (Off the Eaten Path) and Allie Papajohn (EatDrinkCLT), two local food bloggers who are thrilled to be giving back to the Charlotte community this season!
We are excited to support #GivingTuesdayCLT by raising $800 for Community Culinary School of Charlotte! Community Culinary School of Charlotte is a local nonprofit that provides workforce development training and job placement assistance in the food service industry for adults in our community who face barriers gaining and retaining long-term, successful employment. Their program provides systemic solutions to achieve social and economic objectives by addressing one of the root causes of cyclical poverty: employment. CCSC focuses on their students' potential much more than their past situations; they specialize in equipping adults with histories of incarceration, addiction, homelessness, and trauma, with the hands-on training and counseling support they need to begin a culinary career. For most students, CCSC is the last chance for a second chance. CCSC graduates work across Charlotte’s thriving culinary industry, including: top restaurants, large hotels, corporate cafeterias, hospitals, schools, churches and universities. All money raised will go directly to CCSC to purchase chef uniforms and other supplies for their students.
