“We are real people helping to provide guidance, resources, and hope to real people.” - Dianna Goodman, Founder of Carolina Resource Center for Eating Disorders.
Carolina Resource Center for Eating Disorders (CRC for ED) has served WNC since 2004 as a trusted hub for eating disorder prevention and support. As the only nonprofit in North Carolina supporting individuals, families, and professionals concerned with disordered eating and recovery from eating disorders, CRC for ED is committed to promoting healthy relationships with food, movement, and body image; eliminating stigma; and fostering acceptance and healing.
Last year, CRC for ED provided community outreach and professional development to over 1,543 participants. The Helpline supported over 117 individuals, families, and professionals through connection to treatment resources and referrals. And the support groups provided community for hundreds of attendees - even more this year as the organization adapted programming to a virtual platform due to COVID-19.
With your support, CRC for ED hopes to expand its education/outreach and to develop an assessment program that will make eating disorder treatment more accessible to the most vulnerable communities.
