Due to the COVID-19 crisis, many Atlanta restaurants have shuttered their doors, and some may never reopen. Our hearts are collectively broken right now for our friends in the restaurant and hospitality industry--especially the ones undergoing extreme hardship IN ADDITION to massive lay-offs. This crisis is devastating to the waiter at your favorite spot down the street, your neighborhood bartenders, and all the restaurant workers who are facing financial uncertainty. While Giving Kitchen cannot provide financial assistance to those who are unemployed only, they can help those who are enduring additional hardship due to calamities such as illness including COVID-19, mandatory quarantine, accident or injury, family death, or disaster like a house flood or fire with financial assitance. For more information on who qualifies for assistance, visit this page. And please know that even if a food service industry worker doesn't qualify for GK financial assistance, Giving Kitchen can refer them to other community resources and partners that may assist them through their Stability Network.
Atlanta Eats and a coalition of major Atlanta leaders including lifestyle influencers, food bloggers, and media personalities are collectively using our voices to raise funds between NOW and 11:59pm ET on Monday, April 6, 2020 for the Giving Kitchen, in order to get resources and money immediately into the hands of the people who need it most.
Now more than ever, the Atlanta restaurant community and the workers who make Atlanta feel like home, need your help.
For more information on how The Giving Kitchen is helping those affected by COVID-19, please visit this page.
