Hello! We are the MinMinBears and we are on a mission in 2020 to educate about kidney disease and the importance of organ donation. But, we can't do it without you!
In the United States, more than 9,800 children and adolescents have kidney failure or end-stage renal disease (ESRD), and they rely on life saving dialysis or a kidney transplant. The prevalence of ESRD in children and adolescents increases with age, with a greater proportion living with a transplant. (source: NIDDK)
In 2020, we want to make a difference in the lives of children and their families, who suffer from kidney disease, kidney failure and ultimately kidney donation.
We are hoping to gift 10 children who are affected by kidney disease or have been affected by kidney donation, with a MinMinBear. These bears will serve as comfort, a dialysis companion, and a way to feel understood in the face of their battle or healing.
As a secondary measure to help educate and bring comfort, the MinMinBear Foundation is also working to publish our first children's book. The book will also serve as a way to explain the kidney donation process, through the adventures of the MinMinBears, inspired by our current online initiative, the #minminbearchallenge.
The money raised from this campaign will go directly to these two causes. It covers the cost of the bears, shipping and delivery, and costs associated with publishing the book. With your donation, we can make both of these goals possible. Your contribution is tax deductible and we are a registered and recognized 501c3 nonprofit organization in the United States.
