Small rooms, limited access to resources, and long days make social distancing challenging for families living in shelter. At Horizons, our dedication to serving families has not wavered amidst the pandemic. By refocusing our efforts and adapting to changing needs, we’re stepping up for families in new and innovative ways. Follow along this #GivingTuesdayNow as we share how we’re helping families like Portia’s stay healthy while living in shelter. Be part of our work helping families get through this crisis by making a gift or sharing this story so others know about the work Horizons is doing with families experiencing homelessness.
A gift of 250 dollars helps us refocus our efforts and resources to support families who are spending more time than ever before in shelter, by supplying them with essentials like diapers, groceries and gift cards.
A gift of 100 dollars funds Horizons’ tablet initiative, which supplies tablets pre-loaded with educational content to children living in shelter. The tablets help fill the learning gap while Early Education Centers are closed.
A gift of 25 dollars buys supplies for Playspace kits. The kits, filled with toys, art supplies, and books, are delivered to shelters, ensuring each family has some of the same resources their child would typically access in Playspace, in their shelter room.
Any amount helps sustains Horizons programs by helping underwrite the expenses associated with these efforts and more. Consider making a one-time gift or a monthly contribution that will help families experiencing homelessness during the crisis and beyond.
