Homelessness Doesn't Stop with the Hit of Covid!
Cocoon House provides an essential safety net for at-risk and homeless young people in Snohomish County who have nowhere else to turn. These vulnerable youth experience elevated risks, but especially so during this time of developing crisis.
While the pandemic has shaped recent programming adaptations, our mission remains as resolved as ever – to break the cycle of homelessness. Over the past weeks, our housing programs have remained open and continue to meet the needs of homeless youth who rely on Cocoon House for safety and stability. In order to support social distancing, the U-Turn drop-in center has modified its services, but at-risk and homeless young people can still take showers, do their laundry, and receive critical basic needs items such as food and clothing through non-contact measures. Our Outreach and Prevention programs have launched creative and virtual interventions to continue to meet the needs of youth and families in crisis.
Your support today will make an immediate difference in sustaining Cocoon House's critical services now, and as we travel the uncertain road ahead. A gift of:
$50 will provide activity materials for youth during isolation
$100 will feed a housing program's residents for day
$250 will provide one month's supply of toilet paper
$500 will purchase 15 gallons of sanitizer
$1,000 will professionally sanitize our housing program sites
We know that while the impacts of this pandemic will be felt for months and years ahead, we are united as a community in hope and love.
We are truly in this together. Thank you for joining with Cocoon House for #GivingTuesday!
