Kidney Disease Hasn't Stopped and Neither Have We.
COVID-19 won’t stop the NKFF. Now more than ever, kidney patients, professionals, and care partners need our help.
Please be assured that while we remain focused on the health and safety of our professionals and those around us, we are also focused on continued service to the patients through NKFF programs. We have taken steps to make sure we can continue to deliver the necessary and vital resources from these programs to our patient communities. This includes continuing to deliver emergency grants to both dialysis and transplant patients through the Direct Aid and Hawthorne Programs. We are grateful for our staff and volunteers, who are now working virtually to make this possible.
The CDC states older adults and people with kidney disease or other chronic conditions are at greater risk of experiencing serious Coronavirus illness. It is especially important for patients to take preventive measures aimed at reducing the likelihood of exposure. This includes avoiding crowds and public spaces. Because of this, all fundraising events through the month of May have been postponed. We believe this decision, though not ideal, is in the best interest of the entire kidney community and is necessary to protect the patients and families at the heart of our organization’s mission.
Without our key fundraisers, we rely on our donors during these critical times to help us continue the programs that our patients depend on. Please consider making a gift to the Kidney Foundation of Florida today so that we may continue to provide these lifesaving programs. We thank each and every one of you for your support.
