As we come to the end of what has been a very tumultuous year for everyone, we the Board of Friends of John Paul School want to express our deepest gratitude to all of our donors. In good times and bad, and as you face your own personal struggles and concerns, you continue to send support and encouragement; this is deeply felt and appreciated. The school faculty and students are so moved by this ongoing support, especially during these trying times (please see the letters of gratitude on this page).
We are determined to support the school in recovering from the effects of the pandemic and in moving forward with the explosive growth in number of students who will be returning to campus over the next few months. Below are the key ways we plan to do this:
The original 22 computers that were installed in the Computer Lab in 2016 cannot accommodate projected student levels. We plan to purchase and install an additional 50 computers this year, with additional purchases planned in the coming years.
With one small kitchen on the campus grounds and now over 600 (students and staff) to feed daily, there is a great need for expanded food preparation and dining facilities. Currently students and staff eat all meals outside, often standing in groups. A multi-purpose building will allow for dining areas as well as a meeting place for the student body as a whole.
Covid-remediation mandates from the government call for installed fencing around the perimeter of the campus, hiring of new staff to support new procedures and testing, and housing of additional students so there is less travel to and from school. We hope to help support the school in covering these costs.
