Winter can be a tough time of year for families living paycheck to paycheck. Higher utility bills and the cold & flu season can put additional strain on already stretched budgets.
This fall will prove to be challenging for even more families as COVID-19 continues to financially impact more than a million people in our state. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, our state saw the need for food assistance double from about 850,000 people to 1.6 million people as a result of the economic hardship caused by the pandemic. This number is forecasted to grow with the number of food-insecure people reaching more than 2 million people before the crisis begins to subside.
With your support, Food Lifeline is able to get nutritious food into the communities that need it most, helping to relieve some of the financial burden and stress faced by many families this time of year as well as supporting those through the economic hardship brought on by COVID-19.
