For my grand daughter, Julia, who was born with a heart defect, I am raising money for the American Heart Association and would appreciate any help you can provide to get me to my goal of $250. I have started the campaign off with my initial donatin of $25, but any amount, big or small, helps so much. Below is the Giving Bears Day information. Thank you so much in advance for your help. Every little heart deserves a fighting chance.
Everyone's heard of Giving Tuesday, but have you heard of Giving Bears Day?
Heart Hero Kids have stared down some of the scariest situations one can imagine. To honor their courage, the Vermont Teddy Bear Company created the Love Your Heart Bear, a classic 15-inch Bear with an embroidered 'scar' in the center of the chest. All bears come with a lifetime warranty.
Beginning on Giving Tuesday, December 3, and running throughout the month of December, when you donate or fundraise $250 or more on this page, we will give a Love Your Heart Bear to a Heart Hero Kid with a special tag from you, the donor. Your donation will also go toward funding vital heart and stroke research so we can help save more lives.
If you aren't able to make a $250 donation, but would still like to gift a bear, you can fundraise from your family and friends to reach your $250 goal.
"As a parent who has watched my child go through something so traumatic, this kind gesture of giving the children a friend for support and love is so special and meaningful. I can’t wait to see the smiles on these children’s faces, and to be able to provide some comfort in a scary and overwhelming time in their lives. I am so thankful to both Vermont Teddy Bear and the American Heart Association for getting this program started."- Kathryn Towle, AHA volunteer and Heart Hero mother
**Please note that bears will be delivered to patients at a local children's hospital. We cannot designate who receives a bear.**
