Dear friends and family - for the last year I've been involved with the Harlem Educational Activities Fund (HEAF), a non-profit college prep and leadership program that supports underserved minorities in New York City. I was attracted to HEAF because I wanted to support an organization that helps fight inequality and provides children with greater opportunity, and one that has a strong team and track record of success. I believe I've found that organization with HEAF - they do truly amazing work, supporting nearly 600 low-income minority youth each year and achieving tremendous results: 100% of their students graduate high school and enroll in college, and 80% of those students graduate college.
Right now HEAF is in the midst of it's annual "11x11" online fundraising campaign, named to recognize the 11-year commitment HEAF makes to its students and families from 6th grade to college graduation. The idea is to ask 11 friends to donate at least $11 to the campaign. If you're able to contribute and support HEAF, and the hundreds of youth they help every day, could you give $11 today? And if you can, can you ask 11 of your friends to do the same?
Even giving a little can go a long way, and anything you can contribute would be greatly appreciated! If you have any questions about HEAF or the campaign, I'd love to chat more with you sometime, and you can also visit their website at www.heaf.org. Thank you for your support!
