Make A Better Community for Yourself and Your Neighbors!
100% of the funds raised by this campaign will go to provide mental health services for individuals who don’t have insurance or means to afford it for themselves and/or their family members. We believe everyone should have access to high quality mental health support regardless of their income, particularly in this stressful and scary time for our country.
What we do: We offer sliding scale therapy and life coaching sessions.
How it works: Each mental health professional holds low-cost, sliding scale slots in their schedule, and fees are determined by client income (client’s fee per session is approximately .01% of their annual income down to $30); this allows those with less to pay less and those with more to pay more. Each life coach and therapist has a limited number of sliding scale spots available.
What we’d like to do: Offer anyone without insurance and/or financial means access to life coaches and licensed therapists; we believe that everyone should have access to services that support and improve their lives. Once it is safe to do so, we plan to provide therapist-supported community outreach like art therapy programs, trauma groups, chronic pain groups, older adult (65+) groups, and family education.
Eventually, we’d love to be able to offer these services at no cost for those who qualify.
What we need from you: Financial donations or time-share for your services. With each dollar we raise, we are able to level the playing field for clients without sufficient income or insurance.
Our Story: Community Mental Health Group was formed in November 2019 in direct response to a growing mental health crisis in America. Mass shootings, police violence, crimes against women and the Black community were all in the spotlight, highlighting a real need for mental health intervention and support. Knowing that mental health is stigmatized and that access to resources for support can be hard to come by for those who need it most, Community Mental Health Group was formed to bridge the gap by creating sliding scale therapy and life coaching offerings for clients.
Soon thereafter, the COVID19 pandemic struck creating a wave of job loss, social isolation, sickness, deaths, and overall uncertainty. Attending to mental health needs is more important than ever as our community makes sense of a new normal and gets back on our feet. Many members of our community have been left without financial means or insurance options that cover the cost of mental health support. We’d like to support as many people seeking help as possible. Every dollar we raise gets us closer to our goal of offering free therapy services to those in need.
Community Mental Health Group is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and your donation may be tax deductible.
