The Stability Network started as a grassroots effort nine years ago with the belief that showing people living examples of individuals thriving with mental health conditions, including how they reached stability and stay healthy, could change - and save - lives.
Now over 200 advocates - called Stability Leaders - in seven countries, we are changing the status quo, making it possible to talk about and get support for mental health.
We envision a world where people with mental health conditions thrive in supportive workplaces and communities, where living with a mental health condition is not a shameful secret, and people do not live in fear of discrimination.
We recruit, train, support, and deploy our Stability Leaders to share their stories
and combat the negative stereotypes that pervade workplaces, the media, and our communities. When Stability Leaders speak openly, they show people living with mental health conditions that they are not alone. For those not living with mental health challenges, Stability Leaders break down the wall of stigma by saying, “I am not so different from you.” This human-to-human approach to changing minds is not only intuitive, it is evidence-based.
We are proud to have reached 60,000 people in 2020 with stories of hope and know we can do much more. We need your help to expand our reach and realize our vision of having a Stability Leader in every zipcode, so that everyone with mental health challenges has a role model to turn to.
