WHO WE ARE:
Sound Aloud, Inc. is a ministry that is on a mission to help this generation release their sound! What do we mean by SOUND? We mean finding their own unique "VOICE" that comes by finding their reason why(purpose) and therefore discovering identity! We accomplish this by using the Creative Arts, holistic health, and mentorship, discipleship and outreach programs that provide a safe atmosphere for self-discovery.
THE PROBLEM:
Let's face it; we live in a time where we are having the greatest advancements in technology, have more social outlets than ever before, and we have the quickest access to knowledge. Yet we are more depressed, more suicidal, lonelier, and without the knowledge of whom we are. We are seeing this lead to a "lost" generation. One where the value of purpose and awareness of self-identity is crushed. As a result, statistics show our generation's suicide rates are increasing, drugs for depression are on the rise like never before and much more. HOW WE HELP:
At Sound Aloud, we use the Creative Arts, holistic health principles, and discipleship methods to create programs that help this generation find their voice(identity), release their sound(purpose), and live it aloud(unashamed).
THE EXAMPLE ... V-SOUND:
For example, V-Sound is our newest mentoring group made out of V3G (representing, “Girls giving VOICE to our VISION and becoming the next generation of VICTORIOUS women.”), and V3B (representing, “Boys giving VOICE to our VISION and becoming the next generation of VICTORIOUS men”) . (go to the link to learn more about the campaign: https://soundaloud.org/we-need-you) In this group, our participants engage in things like: To better assist in character development, self discipline, team work, and accomplishing challenging goals, we get into rhythm! V3G & V3B are turned into a dynamic STEP/STOMP CREW where we get loud with our voice and release the SOUND OF OUR VISION!
Each session includes:
* Character Building topical interactive studies are taught with biblical foundation.
* The use of the fine, visual, and performing arts to give freedom of expression and allow dreams to become goals and birth vision.
* Creative Arts projects are turned in to theater presentations, gallery showings, etc. allowing each participant that opportunity to learn how to present their “VOICE” using their own unique “SOUND”.
* Guest speakers from our local artist and business communities are invited to teach job skills, art (fine art, music, recording, and valuable life lessons).
* Real talks: times we get real about topics our generation face and how to deal, cope, overcome, and support. Community projects and evangelism where we give the groups opportunities to serve and pour out into others what has been poured into them.
* Talent showcases
* Choir & Band
* Leadership opportunities
* ...much more!
IT ALL HAPPENS AT SOUND ALOUD:
At Sound Aloud, we use dance, stomp, spoken word, break dance, instruments, singing, fine art, visual art, the art of being whole (spirit, soul, and body), dynamic instruction, mentorship, etc., to unleash each participants SOUND.
In using these methods and her dividing her unique blend of them, for well over 20 years the founder has been able to reach many youth and young adults. As a result Sound Aloud was birthed based off of these effective methods.
Because of what has been birthd and developed, we have been able to witness participants overcoming suicide, loneliness, and feel equipped to beat the battle of depression.
We have seen people choose to discontinue gang activity, bullying, and abusive behaviors.
We have heard the testimonies of people that felt like they had no hope or purpose - begin to discover a reason to live.
We have also witnessed this generation come the knowledge of a real Christ and Heavenly Father that has a very specific reason for their existence, that has lead to a renewed pursuit of that purpose. Because of this we see confidence rise, low self esteem shattered, and people feeling capable to live life (which by the way we don’t believe they should do alone).
WE GET UNLEASHED:
See, when we get creative things get unleashed! And Sound Aloud provides the atmospheres for that to happen. We have Creative Arts training, mentor groups, small groups (where we use the Bible to get real about some hard hitting topics), spontaneous worship nights, internships, we connect with other organizations so together we are stronger and more effective, and .... where we just get loud as a generation! Programs like these unleash gifts, talents,
and confidence in people.
THE CALL TO ACTION (THIS IS ABOUT YOU):
WE ARE CALLING AN URGENT CALL TO ACTION... we cannot meet this years financial goal without YOU! And to continue our work, and have the ending funds for 2018 and the starting funds for 2019, we need to meet this goal!
