Each year, Gishers come together to make a profound difference in the lives of people or communities facing extraordinary hardship. Our community has helped clear land mines from villages in Laos, housed and provided medical care and nutrition to Syrian refugee families, preserved hundreds of thousands of acres of endangered habitat, and many other accomplishments.
Given the current pandemic and the crisis of food insecurity in the United States and the limitations of SNAP programs for even the neediest of families, for this GISH Hunt we’ve decided to rally our tremendous enthusiasm and support towards the No Kid Hungry.
The coronavirus is closing schools nationwide, and millions of vulnerable children are losing the school meals they depend on. For some, it’s the only food they’ll receive in a given day. No Kid Hungry has a plan to feed kids, but they need your help today to continue their work to ensure every kid gets three meals a day.
In America today, millions of children face hunger. Working with local partners across the country, No Kid Hungry is ending childhood hunger by ensuring that kids get the food they need, like healthy breakfast at school and free meals during the summertime.
