URGENT! All giraffe are considered endangered, so we need your help to incentivize the protection and conservation of giraffe mothers and calves and their nursery habitats on the Siria Plateau, in Kenya, today.
As part of a Life Net Nature youth empowerment project in Kenya, we trained local Maasai to monitor giraffe at Oloirien Group Ranch on Siria Plateau next to the famed Masai Mara. The youth organization, Maasai Moran Conservation and Walking Safaris, recently discovered that their monitoring area of around 1600 hectares is critical habitat for breeding and nurturing of young giraffe.
This small area is an important source of giraffe for tourism in the Mara Triangle Reserve.
We need to get funds working at a grassroots level. No time to wait for a grant. We need your help, today.
Your contribution will be used to support the following activities:
1. Contribute to providing scholarships for children from family's with land in a new giraffe "conservancy".
2. Contribute to community outreach about giraffe and their habitat needs, how special Maasai grazing lands are for giraffe, and about the win-win co-existence of traditional grazers with giraffe.
3. Contribute to funding a Maasai graduate student to earn a Masters degree by studying giraffe mother-infant ecology on the Siria Plateau.
4. Support of Maasai Moran Conservation and Walking Safaris charity in Kenya.
Any donation will help. Sharing this information will also make a difference. Thanks in advance for your gift to giraffe in Kenya.
