The mission of The Whole Child, Inc. is to support the healthy (cognitive, social/emotional, physical) development of children and to empower their families through education, opportunity, coaching, and consultation.
We are dedicated to empowering the youth of our community with the broad skills needed to live a happy life in today's world. These skills include: communication, social/emotional, self-advocacy, sensory-motor, student & organization skills, human relations and health knowledge.

Gillian graduated from Bay Path University with her Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2016 and is currently a candidate for earning her license in mental health counseling (LMHC) through the state of Massachusetts.
After receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree from Bay Path University Gillian began her career as an early childhood educator in Rhode Island working as a 3 yr old preschool teacher, which affirmed her love of working with children. Gillian entered graduate school full-time at Bay Path University with an interest in mental health counseling and it was then that Gillian realized that her main passion was in child therapy. She completed her clinical experience at A.M. Chaffee Elementary school in Oxford, MA during the 2015-2016 school year, working full time as a school adjustment counselor intern. It was during this experience when Gillian realized her true potential while working with children to become successful, healthy and happy members of society. Gillian became trained in the Zones of Regulation (R), “Second Step: Social Emotional Learning” and completed two workshops on the power of play therapy which she utilized most often during her clinical experience and continues to use in treating her younger clients. Most recently Gillian plans to attend clincial training in Michelle Garcia-Winner’s “Social Thinking ®”. Gillian has experience working with children of divorce, death, trauma and children experiencing anxiety, depression, behavioral problems, and Autism. Gillian is also an ACE certified personal trainer, yoga instructor, group exercise instructor and Spinning instructor as well as an avid runner and weight lifter and is the owner and sole instructor of Stroller Fitness of Blackstone Valley. Gillian loves to use yoga in her therapy as well as the power of physical activity in overcoming mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. Gillian lives with her husband and three young children in Smithfield, RI.
