Ghulam Mohammad Scholarship Fund Golf Event Sponsored by Essential StaffCARE

The Ghulam Mohammad Scholarship fund was started by Gauher (Mo) Mohammad and his sons to honor his father.  The Mohammad family wanted to help address the gap in technical education by promoting as it as a viable post-secondary opportunity and providing scholarships to qualified students choosing a technical education.

Gauher Mohammad has been involved in raising money for technical education for several years. He served on the Board of Directors for the Riverland Community College Foundation in Southern Minnesota.

Gauher experienced first hand the value of the scholarships awarded to students who attended Riverland Community College.  Based on that experience Gauher wanted to offer the same opportunities to students across the state, allowing them to attend the college of their choice.

The Mohammad family believes that students pursuing a technical education should be able to choose the school that best fits their needs. In 2019 the first program was started and from the support of the local community and employers across the state 6 students were awarded The Ghulam Mohammad Scholarship for $1,000 each.

Unfortunately, because of Covid-19, this year Beacons of Influence was unable to host the annual golf event to support and raise funds for The Ghulam Mohammad Scholarship Fund. However, to continue to raise money for education Gauher and his sons, Khurram and Ghulam together with his best friend from college, Troy McDonough are playing a best ball golf tournament to honor his dad and raise money for the scholarships.

It is our sincere hope that you will support our efforts by being a sponsor. Just a friendly competition among the four golfers to raise the most amount of money for scholarships.

We thank you for your support and promise to share with you some pictures and results of the Old Guys Vs. the Youngs Guys called the McMo Open.
