2020 = FIGHT CANCER
Are you ready to Fight Cancer? Join The Truck in helping us EXCEED our goal of $50,OOO!!!
The Truck has been selected by PGA TOUR Commissioner Jay Monahan to run in the 2020 Boston Marathon! We are honored to have been selected, and will be joining the Golf Fights Cancer team in raising money to support cancer related causes. The Truck has chosen the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation as our primary beneficiary for the Marathon run. However, we are also committed to helping additional cancer related charities throughout the 2020 season.
For those unfamiliar with The Truck, it is the PGA TOUR Operations truck that travels weekly with the Korn Ferry Tour. The Truck is made up of 10 staff members that work directly with Players, Caddies, Volunteers, Fans, Sponsors, Event Staff, and anyone that needs a helping hand.
Outside of our professional duties, The Truck is a home for all who know us. Through our travels, we meet an abundance of people that have unique stories in which we love to share. We hang patches on our walls from Firefighters who serve as First Aid for the Tournament, Police Officer patches who serve as Security, and Military patches that come from a variety of people who have served for our freedoms. We also have other memorabilia scattered throughout The Truck that tells other successful stories. The Truck is always open for everyone to come in, relax, get a tour, and be able to share our story of what makes The Truck a truly special place. In 2016, Dennis “Zinky” Zinkon, a member of The Truck Team, passed away unexpectedly from a Pulmonary Embolism. Zinky left us with a new found fight for helping others. His giving spirit encouraged us to create our own Truck Charities. The Truck has raised over $150,000 since inception and 100% goes to charity. Truck Charities have made donations to over 20 foundations, hospitals, and alliances, including Fighting Cancer with PGA TOUR golfer Scott Harrington and his wife Jenn. In addition, Wolfson Children’s Hospital, the National Blood Clot Alliance, and The Abaco Winding Bay Relief Fund (Bahamas) that provided relief following Hurricane Dorian have been a few beneficiaries.
We have set a lofty goal and we need support from everyone to reach our pledge of $50K. Please help us spread the word, post on social media, and tell friends and family.
Reach out to us on our social platforms or website with any suggestions or comments. We look forward to fighting cancer together in 2020. Thanks for all your support. #fightcancer #always
