Many of you made very generous contributions on my behalf last year. I was really touched and cannot thank you enough. After spending a year on the board, I can tell you without a doubt that if you are able to consider making another contribution, every dollar will be utilized to its max. Your support will help to expand JBBBS’ initiatives to assist our youth in realizing their potential.
Since joining the board, I have seen the inner workings of an organization driven by passion and guided by talent, and I wanted to share a couple observations with you.
Driven by passion: I have known many of the members of the board for a long time and I have come to know many others over the past year. During this time, it has become clear to me that they are all unified by a passion to not only provide mentorship to youth in need throughout Los Angeles, but by their support of the lesser known initiatives that JBBBS provides. Whether it’s Teen Talk, College Guidance & Scholarship, or Camp Bob Waldorf, there is no shortage of opinions, deep concern or actionable solutions that improve JBBBS. I am beyond grateful to be a part of this board.
Supported by talent: They say a board is only as good as it’s least effective staff member. Actually...not really...but lucky for JBBBS, there is no such staff member anyway. In fact, what has impacted me most this year is seeing first-hand how incredibly effective, efficient, organized, and dedicated the JBBBS professionals truly are. Randy, Cari and the rest of the talented team running JBBBS have the acumen and expertise to think logically and linearly. Yet, they also maintain an openness and creativeness to think spatially. This allows them to extract the absolute best out of a board comprised of individuals with diverse backgrounds. Ultimately, JBBBS is a not-for-profit organization, but it’s run like a for-profit company by professionals I really admire.
Thank you for
