If you love a 2018 graduate and/or their passion to help others, you too can join the Class of 2018 in endowing the student fund at Garrett-Evangelical!
Many students face an emergency need while at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. The Class of 2018 noticed that, especially for international students, these emergency financial needs can cause extra stress, lower grades, delayed graduation, or even halt their studies.
A Student Fund was established at Garrett-Evangelical in 1991. Each year the fund assists students who experience an emergency that places them in unexpected financial need. Student Fund distribution is administered by a committee of students (organized by the Student Fund Chair on StuCo) in a procedure that protects the anonymity of the applicants. Currently, this fund receives a small amount of money each year from the StuCo budget and Office of Student life.
In order to better help students financially, the Class of 2018 has decided to endow the Student Fund as their class gift. This endowed fund would be a continual source of emergency funding to future students. (For example: A $10,000 endowed fund would generate around $500 a year to meet the emergency needs of students and funds not used would roll over to following years.)
All gifts made on this crowdrise page will support the Class of 2018 Student Fund Endowment. You can also choose to give at garrett.edu/giving and designate "2018 class gift" or send a check with the designation in the memo line.
