Meet Coco. At 10-years-old, Coco has already had quite the life. She was adopted as a kitten, and had a stable and loving home - until the baby arrived. Coco prefers adults to kiddos, so her owners brought her to us.
Turned out, Coco is quite the special kitty. She is a polydactyl, meaning she has a few extra toes on her front paws. In addition, she has been declawed, which is why we are telling her story.
Coco is in severe pain. The declaw procedure did not go as planned, and left shards of bone in her paws, causing pain whenever she walks. HSHC took Coco to the Cat Care Clinic to have her paws examined. They determined that surgery is her best bet. Removing the shards from her feet will cost the shelter $600. We are asking for your help in giving this wonderful cat a second chance at a pain-free happily ever after.
