Spring into action this April with the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR)!
AICR leads the charge in research, education and lifestyle recommendations for cancer prevention. Research shows that around 40% of cancer cases in the US are preventable, and one of the best ways you can reduce your cancer risk is to be physically active. For cancer prevention, AICR recommends at least 150 minutes of moderate physical activity per week.
This April, we are challenging you to “Get Active” for 150 minutes every week! Everyone can join our challenge; if you aren’t very active now, use this challenge to build a new daily habit that will help you lead a healthier life. If you’re already active, use this challenge to learn more about what you can do to reduce your cancer risk and motivate others! Join AICR’s Strava Club for research insights and lifestyle tips for cancer prevention.
Make it count! Invite your family, friends and colleagues to join our challenge so you can keep each other accountable and exercise together. Does 600 minutes seem like a lot? Over a month, it’s only 10 minutes of activity twice a day – you can do it! All activities count; no matter what you choose – walking, biking, running, dancing, swimming – make physical activity a daily habit and the health benefits will add up.
Join our Strava Club and the Get Active 150 with AICR Challenge, and start a fundraiser to raise $150 to help us save lives from cancer – we are all one team when it comes to reducing cancer risk! Learn more about AICR here.
