This May, I will be traveling to the Northern Region of Ghana as a Field Representative for Saha Global, a nonprofit organization that partners with rural communities in developing countries to establish sustainable water treatment businesses. These businesses are owned and operated by women in the communities they serve, and use simple, affordable technologies. To date, Saha Global has launched 135 clean water businesses that serve over 60,000 people. As I will be helping set up a business myself, I will be able to verify that the community I'm working with is benefitting directly from the business, and that it's set up in a sustainable and lasting way.
Forty percent of the population in the Northern Region lack access to clean drinking water, and people are currently drinking fecally contaminated water. The funds I raise will go directly toward starting a water business, ensuring that it keeps running after my departure. I would greatly appreciate your help in this endeavor--every donation makes a difference! If you would like to donate without the inconvenience of a fee, please consider donating to Saha offline in my name!
