Hello and a virtual hug!... to our families, friends, neighbors, and strangers from all of us at Polaris Dance Theatre.
Together we will find our way back, to our community and friends! Together we will thrive! Together we will change lives through dance, again!
This will pass. With your help, Polaris Dance Theatre will continue. THROUGH DANCE WE AWAKEN THE HEART AND ENHANCE OUR HUMANITY.
This is the reason we are Polaris Dance Theatre. This is our purpose, through our culture and programming, we collectively support, lift, and affect positive change. More than ever we need your help and support, so that we continue the work we have started in this vibrant community.
To keep our community alive during this time, we have adapted and transformed into a Polaris that creates human connection through dance in different ways. Together, we are beginning to forge a new path for the “where” and “how” dance can take place.
What have we done?
1. We have created an Online Dance Series that samples our multi-discipline programming through Zoom classes and FB Lives to reach a wider audience.
2. We have created a Community Facebook Group to stay connected, share news, and provide help when we can to our students and families.
3. With other organizations and artists in mind who are experiencing hardship we have created a Community Resource Page to get the word out about how they are continuing to move forward.
4. We have opened our studio doors to organizations, artists, and dance teachers that have needed a space to film their online courses.
A large part of our programming, performances, gala and fundraisers are all strategically placed in the spring months to ensure that we can make it through the summer months. Due to COVID-19 and the requirement of closing our doors on March 16 we have had to cancel 2 youth company shows, 8 student performances, our spring fundraiser, 6 shows from our two professional companies, ELa FaLa Collective and Polaris Dance Theatre and some or all of our Summer Programs.
It is with heavy hearts that we share that we have run out of funds and are in desperate need to raise $175,000 to be able to maintain through the end of summer. This will ensure that we can open our doors in the Fall and continue our work in the community.
With the generosity of the Olsson Foundation, The Standard, RACC, a handful of very gracious donors, and a PPP loan, we have chipped away at this overwhelming number bringing the total funds required for survival through the end of August to $125,000. We need our community more than ever to help us through these hard times.
We sincerely ask for your help now. Please donate now to Polaris Dance Theatre.
At this time no gift or idea is too large!
