Please help us support Brisma who is seeking asylum in the US after fleeing for her life from from an abusive environment. Years ago Brisma fled her home in Guatemala to escape her ex-husband who was a member of a dangerous gang and was threatening her life. She settled in Mexico and started a family but her new husband was also abusive and she was forced to flee again. She is seeking asylum to create a safe life here for herself and her daughters. A group of congregants of Christ Church East Bay have formed an "accompaniment team" to support Brisma in attaining her asylum status so she can bring her daughters here safely and they can start a new life. Our first task is to raise $2,500 for her bond so she can get out of detention. We appreciate your generous donation to help this brave woman who has made an extremely courageous journey in order find safety for her daughters and herself. Donations will go to Community Initiatives for Visiting Immigrants in Confinement, a non-profit. Donations are tax deductible.
