Hi everyone! My name is BennuAube Amen and I am a rising junior at New York University. I major in Environmental Studies and am vehemently interested in the disproportionate impact that climate change has on communities in rural areas all over the Africa continent. Luckily, I have recently been accepted to participate in the Saha Global Leadership Program that takes place in the Northern Region of Ghana this spring. The program is set to run from May 28th-June 18th.
Saha Global is a non-profit organization that partners with rural women in the Northern region to bring clean water to their communities. Saha water entrepreneurs use local products to treat contaminated water from their local community sources and make it safe to drink. They then sell this water at an affordable price to members of their community. I have the opportunity to be a part of this team and life changing experience. The work that I will do with Saha is specifically catered to my field and the work that I would like to do later on in my career. I will not only gain practical skills in water management and sanitation, but will also be afforded the opportunity to help rural women in the Northern region become entrepreneurs.
HOWEVER, I NEED YOUR HELP!
I need to raise $3,500 by May 11, 2018! The $3500 is the program fee that covers my lodging, transportation to and from the sites that I will b working at, and my contribution to the actual development of the water sanitation system. I would hate to miss out on this career altering opportunity due to a lack of funding. Please help me raise this money so that I can take part in the Saha Global Leadership Program.
