Company executive and local philanthropist Geoff Brown is committed to building affordable communities in the capital region—and better lives for their low-income residents. Brown, who became president of affordable housing developer-manager-owner USA Properties Fund Inc. in 1997, has overseen the company’s fast-paced development in the region and statewide.
Today, USA Properties has about 30 communities in the Sacramento region, with a total of more than 7,500 residents. In addition to providing affordable housing for families and seniors in the region, Brown co-founded the JB Brown Fund, a charitable endeavor that provides financial assistance to residents in many of USA Properties’ communities.
The JB Brown Fund has raised over $1,480,000 since 2011, with funds helping residents attend college, families facing financial emergencies and seniors hit with unexpected hardships. More than 725 residents have been helped by the program during the past eight years, including over 360 in the Sacramento region. Brown has devoted much time and money into the nonprofit effort, serving as an example to his 200 plus employees in the Sacramento region. Under Brown’s leadership, USA Properties Fund is truly making a difference to residents.
