The Geneva Music Festival, featuring the premiere chamber artists in the country, presents a three-week series of chamber music along with jazz, organ and bluegrass performances for the Finger Lakes region of upstate NY. Concerts and outreach events provide enrichment in locales underserved with music of this caliber and diversity. Festival musicians also offer a week of concerts designed to reach school children and seniors. In addition, 240 children will be given free vouchers to bring a family member to attend a concert with them.
Similar to the 2018 season’s celebration of African American music, poetry and perspectives, the 2019 season, May 24- June 16, contains themes focusing on the contributions of women composers and musicians woven throughout the programming. Music by composers of the past, Clara Schumann, Fanny Mendelssohn, Amy Beach and Florence Price along with contemporary composers like Jennifer Higdon and Caroline Shaw will be performed.
