In the fall of 2018, the band GedaLife decided to host a special concert to share some great music, and to build community and joy in a world where the challenges and hurt often seem to outshine the love and the caring. The theme of that first GedaLife backyard concert was Peace, Love, and Understanding, and we, along with some of our friends, shared songs and spoken word centered around these concepts.
Now it's the fall of 2019, and around the world we see refugees by the millions fleeing war, famine, and danger, storms and fires destroying entire towns, and many people living on the streets due to poverty, addiction, or simply an untimely illness or job loss. All of these things can rob a person or a family of their home, and as we thought about this and felt grateful for our own homes, we decided that this year's backyard concert would center around the theme of HOME.
Often bands will sell tickets to concerts like this. Instead, GedaLife would like to encourage you to use this page to donate to Habitat for Humanity, an organization dedicated to providing homes for people who need them - in our own community and around the world. So enjoy the music, enjoy the friendship, and please consider giving to help Habitat build homes for those in need.
