The Chardon Rotary Club has great news to share!! The Geauga Pandemic Relief Fund to benefit Claridon Community Helps! is now past halfway to our goal of $35,000!! This GoFundMe page, combined with the numerous checks received and a $10,000 matching funds contribution from the Rotary Club of Chardon has put us over $22,000 to date. This past week Steve Turpin of the Chardon Rotary Club presented Judi Maloney of CCH with a check for $20,000. As of today, we can feed these hungry kids thru June, but we need your help to feed them thru August. If you have not donated already, please re-consider a donation for this important and urgent cause.
Claridon Community Helps has been preparing and delivering lunches to kids throughout Geauga County funded by private donations for the last year. They started out by feeding 51 kids and have expanded to 159 kids in just one year! All accomplished by volunteers. Due to the effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic, they need more assistance. The pandemic has caused job losses and school closures that have dramatically increased the need for that one free meal a day. Your donation, no matter what amount, will help assure these kids can look forward to at least one nutritious meal, five days a week, every week, until school opens again. Chardon Rotary Foundation has committed to a Matching Fund Program for up to the 1st $10,000 donated. Our goal is to raise $35,000 by June 15, 2020.
