One in every 10 children are sexually abused before the age of 18. Can you imagine a world where a child, abused by someone they trusted, couldn’t access the services they needed to heal? Fortunately for our community, the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy provides direct services to over 700 children annually in a child friendly atmosphere lead by professionally trained staff for over 33 years. The children we serve have experienced various forms of trauma such as sexual abuse or assault, physical abuse, trafficking and witness to violence. Their traumas may differ, but from the moment these brave children enter our doors, our incredible staff works hard to ensure that all are protected and can begin to heal, all at no cost to the children and families.
In the last 5 years, we have seen an overall 31% increase in number of children served. This growth has sparked an urgent need for the GCCA to move into a new space- a space that will give us the opportunity to serve more children in our community and provide better access for them to receive these crucial services. This new space at the MET Atlanta will give us just that. We are in the home stretch of construction, and we need your help to add some finishing touches of comfort for the families that walk through our doors and to make our space move-in ready. We invite you to make an impact contribution to our Campaign. Any gift, big or small, will make a huge impact to creating a space of comfort for children to feel safe, find their voice, be heard and heal.
