The Gaston County Art Guild (GCAG) has a tremendous opportunity! The Gaston County Virus Relief Fund managed by the Gaston Community Foundation and United Way has awarded our organization a matching grant. We hope to raise the match and meet this challenge. Then, with the combined funds, GCAG will purchase Masterpiece Manager software, which will enable the Guild to host a virtual gallery through which artists can display and sell their work at a time when galleries are shuttered and in-person shows are impossible.
This software, along with the companion website and ecommerce capabilities, will allow us to continue our juried gallery shows online during the pandemic and "in person" eventually. It will provide an online platform for local artists and art students to display and sell their work nationally and internationally.
This capability will be unique in our region, attract a new and diverse group of artists to our organization, and spotlight Gaston County as an innovative leader in the promotion of the visual arts during the pandemic and in the future.
Participating artists will rent space in the online gallery, generating revenue for the Guild, income that will fund existing shows, provide resources for new shows, allow us to offer workshops virtually, promote future in-person workshops, support rent expenses of our office and storage space in the United Way Building, and cover the ongoing fees associated with running the website and gallery. All of this will be accomplished without the Guild having to pay rent for a brick and mortar gallery or salaries for gallery staff.

Thanks in advance for your support and generosity!
