The Great Books Foundation's
Emergency R-COVID-S Fund
(Emergency Remote - Collaborative. Online. Virtual. Inquiry-Driven - Support)
These are unprecedented and uncertain times. Millions have been forced to stay home due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a nonprofit organization, we are committed to continuing to help educators and their students thrive during even the most challenging of times. We are uniquely equipped to respond nimbly and with a versatile range of options to address the necessary transitions in this new educational environment of remote learning
We are a flexible group with a national presence, and we want everyone to know that we are listening and will use our expertise and organizational resources to tailor support to specific needs. No need is too small or too big.
However, we need help to be able to help. We invite everyone to give to help us provide stimulating, rigorous, and enjoyable learning experiences to students, faculties, and families throughout the country as we pivot to remote learning for the time being. We will help maximize the time students spend learning at home by providing productive experiences and training to teachers.
Your donations will be used to:
> Keep remote learning from the perils of worksheet-driven busywork
> Equip teachers with inquiry-based instruction and foster student collaboration in a remote learning environment by:
- Helping children gain digital access to his or her grade-level materials (nearly 20,000 have requested access through April 1, 2020)
- Helping teachers join a planning or curriculum-writing session
- Helping teachers grow their expertise in inquiry-based instruction
- Cultivating critical thinking among students
> Provide webinars to answer questions and assist with implementation guidelines
