Scott Strother and I - Running with Purpose
The New York Marathon is the LAST DAY before Scott turns 40 - it was meant to be! He will be attempting his first marathon just before he goes over the hill. In celebration (or in lieu of any birthday gifts, etc.) please donate here.
I will be flying in from Chicago to join him! I will have a full 3 months after the race before I turn 40, so I should be cruising through my 6th marathon — but also have a much stronger inspiration for raising donations and a connection to the Gavin's Got Heart charity, in particular:
My son, Joseph Ryan Dahlgren, was born November 17, 2014, and blessed our lives for 3 months, where he sadly passed due to complication from heterotaxy. Heterotaxy is a syndrome which creates a series of defects in which the major visceral organs are distributed abnormally within the chest and abdomen. Joey had a lot asked of him at such an early age, and fought harder than any baby should have to. He spent his entire life with his family at his side and only felt love. His spirit lives on through his Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister, and all the lives that his story has touched.
Please Donate on this page and Share this page with your friends and family!
(The mission of Gavin’s Got Heart charity is to provide financial and emotional support for families with children affected by congenital heart defects.)
