Cancer is a devastating diagnosis and one that millions receive each year. My mother was unfortunately one of the people that received this diagnosis.
While my mom was originally diagnosed with breast cancer, it metastasized, ultimately spreading to her brain. At the age of 55, she lost her battle, just days before Mother's Day and my college graduation.
It has been ten years since we lost her. There isn't a day I don't go by without thinking of her, how much I miss her, how she bravely fought and how unfair it is that she was taken from this world so soon. My mom, Ann Manley, dedicated her life to her husband, three children and the many lives she took care of as a nurse.
Unfortunately her story is all too common. This disease has taken incredible people from this world and countless loved ones from their family and friends.
I am hosting a fundraiser in honor of my mom and all of those we've lost, that have fought and are currently fighting this disease. In the spirit of my mom who loved a great theme party, I ask you to join in a night of fun with all proceeds benefitting the American Cancer Society, an organization that has the mission to save and celebrate lives while leading the fight for a world without cancer.
