The Gateway Garden’s mission is to provide Bowmanville and nearby Chicago neighborhoods vital open space to grow food, build community, and learn key skills for a more sustainable future. We are seeking $20,000 in funds to continue to develop the common area of the site. The funds will help us add more community gathering and seating areas with landscaping that includes open shared food picking areas, outdoor classroom space, and a family friendly setting. In 2020 we added an accessible walkway and fencing to define the common space from the vegetable plot area. The expanding common area includes the existing pergola and picnic table on Ravenswood Avenue.
With your help, we can do this! Please consider donating now to help turn our dream into reality. Contributions at any level are welcome from individuals, businesses, not-for-profit organizations, and foundations. Donors can designate how they would like to be acknowledged for their contributions, with an option to remain anonymous. All contributions are tax deductible through NeighborSpace, a registered 501(c)(3) organization.
