Once again, I'm in training to ride a bicycle a very long distance to help raise awareness and much needed funds for God’s Love We Deliver. This year, Douglas Elliman's “Ride for Love" will be held Saturday, September 14th and will take us along the southern coast of Long Island, ending at Montauk Point. We're joining our ride with the "Ride to Montauk" event, now in it's 55th year!
This year marks my 4th year riding for God's Love We Deliver. Sadly, due to a very recent back injury and other personal unforseen events, I cannot do the Century ride. I have scaled down and will be riding 50 miles this year (yeah...that's still pretty far!). Training for this ride is hard. It takes its toll on the body and requires sacrifices. But...it's so worth it because I believe in The Cause!
The Cause is raising much needed funds for God's Love We Deliver, and helping them to provide nutritious (and I’m told delicious) individually-tailored meals to people who are too sick (Cancer, HIV, AIDS, etc.) to shop or cook for themselves.
How much to contribute you ask? As much as you want! As each meal cost $10 to prepare, every $100 buys 10 meals. Most people contribute $100 or more (with a suggested $50 minimum). That said, no amount is too small. I hope you will find it in your heart to support me on this ride and to contribute.
This year we're hoping to add to our total and break the $1 MILLION mark. Won't you help us achieve our goal?
Thank you for reading this far...
