Your fellow resident, Grace Cruz, decided to choose our beloved National community because she needed treatment to kick cancer's ass for the second time. Her first encounter with cancer was done with the encompassment of her name, grace. She walked up and done the halls of the hospital on her good days and bad, knowing that the only way to fight darkness is with light. The nurses loved her, she made friends amongst patients because she is a light that is undeniable. When she won her first battle and rang that bell, she did it with her head held high and the brightest smile I wish I could describe. The second time cancer came around, she still moved with grace. And this brings us to today. Where she still battles, but is nothing but inspiration.
For those who have been touched by cancer in any way, through a loved one or you yourself, you are a warrior. Keep fighting always.
