Hi, my name is Gabriella. I've been dancing at Colorado Conservatory of Dance (CCD) for three years. I love the teachers here, and all the new skills I'm learning and the friends I'm making. I feel like I'm becoming a better person and dancer by contributing to the life of the school.
Every year we put on a first-class production of the Nutcracker with amazing guest dancers from all over the world. I'm very excited that I've been cast in several fun parts in this year's show. I hope you will come see me perform! Tickets go on sale October 1st! www.Nutcracker2018.com
While the opportunity to be in the yearly Nutcracker ballet is one of my favorite parts of studying at CCD, the school does much more than put on a spectacular show every year at Christmas time. As a nonprofit organization, we strive to make the lives of people in our community better through dance. Our studio company presents anti-bullying ballets in schools across the Denver/Boulder area, and introduces kids who might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience ballet to the art form.
We also have programs that allow people with special needs to view performances and to take classes so they can also experience the joy of dance. My goal this year is to raise $500 to help CCD build its community-based programs. All the money raised will go toward classroom equipment, teaching supplies, and CCD's Scholarship Programs, to help students who can't afford to pay for dance.
