Christopher lives in Kinshasa, the capital city of DRC (Congo), and attends Fateb Kinshasa Academy, a small Christian school. The school started 5 years ago with the help of an educational NGO called TeachBeyond and the motto "A transformed life transforms others". Christopher was among the school's first nine students. The school started with one class, but since then it has been able to add one grade every year. Over the past three years, the Fateb Kinshasa Academy has mostly been funded by the revenue of school fees. They are so proud of their sustainable model. This year, however, due to COVID-19, most of Christopher’s classmates' parents lost their jobs or have had to continue working without being paid. This meant that the school hasn't received any revenue over the past few months.
With the help of financial gifts and parents' dedication to the school, the school was still able to add a 5th grade, which will be ready for the school opening on October 5th. Unfortunately, there are no more funds for classroom furnishing. Will you help furnish Christopher’s 5th grade classroom? The classroom needs 20 more desks and chairs, a white board, book shelves, and a desk and chair for the new teacher. Christopher and his classmates would be thrilled if they didn’t have to sit on makeshift furniture or the floor. Any financial amount you are able to give would be a huge help and you also have the option of donating through TeachBeyond if you prefer.
Christopher says “Merci!” in advance.
