January 2017, Kaye Crawford a retired early childhood professional and accountant wanted to do something to help prepare youth living in poverty for 21st century good paying jobs. In March of 2018, STEMS4Girls, (SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, AND MATH STUDIES FOR GIRLS) was launched to bring hands-on STEM enrichment activities into communities where families may lack the resources to travel or the affordability to pay for STEM afterschool and summer programs. Mrs. Crawford's determination to make it happen was answered in the spring of 2018 when the board of directors established four initiatives, one of which is the STEM Literacy Program. This initiative can change the trajectory of a kid's life, especially, our girls, who have the potential to succeed to a STEM field of study given an opportunity to explore their interest at an early age. It also adds meaning to our philosophy, "S4G can turn stumbling blocks into ladders". That's why we need you to step up and support what we are doing in often forgotten communities. By spreading the word about our programs and increasing donations to sustain our programs, you will be helping us build a creative and innovative environmentally friendly space where we can protect and provide our kids with the tools and skills necessary for 21st century jobs requiring knowledge of science, technology, engineering, and math.
Thank you for all you do to help us turn stumbling blocks into ladders and keep it moving.
