It is with great disappointment that we announce the cancellation of Edison Park Fest 2020. This would have been our 48th annual neighborhood fundraiser. The Edison Park Chamber of Commerce spends months planning this fest. This fest represents much more to people than just a street festival.
Edison Park Fest has become the neighborhood tradition where no matter what state you currently live in, many come “home” to see old friends and family. Most times, Edison Park Fest becomes that impromptu high school reunion and families gather in the children’s area with their neighbors. Attendees stroll through the craft and business expo supporting our local businesses. As organizers, we are behind the scenes making sure the fest runs safely and smoothly.
What we will most miss this year is seeing the fun everyone is having from the hard work that was put into all the planning.
Since this neighborhood fundraiser has been cancelled, a major deficit will occur in our annual budget of running the Edison Park Chamber of Commerce. The chamber produces more than 25 community events and due to this pandemic, most will be cancelled. We often are the ones helping our businesses and residents going through difficult times. But now we are experiencing difficult times. The Edison Park Chamber of Commerce is asking residents for help. We have created a Go Fund Me to help with the deficit created by the cancellation of Edison Park Fest. No donation is too small, no donation will go unappreciated! Our neighborhood will come back better and stronger than before because of our residents and business owners. This pandemic has only proven that thus far. We look forward to Edison Park Fest 2021 and welcoming everyone “home” to Edison Park!
