The Caribbean is experiencing a major refugee crisis.
3,000,000 Venezuelans have fled their homes this year. Trinidad and Tobago has received 60,000+ of these refugees – feeling a larger draw on resources than almost any other Caribbean nation..
What we are doing.
The International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children prepares the frontlines of child protection - law enforcement, educators, and medical professionals - to recognize and respond to children in danger, giving them the resources and tools needed to create sustainable change. We work together with governments and community leaders to build a country's capacity to protect children from abduction, sexual abuse and exploitation. We look forward to working with the people of Trinidad and Tobago, the Caribbean, and the many countries affected by the Venezuelan refugee crisis.
