Hey everyone! I will be spending 4 weeks in Mbale, Uganda this winter as part of my pediatric residency. I'll be working with the organization ATLAS International - a responsible non-profit that works with the existing infrastructure and clinics to improve healthcare in Uganda. It was founded by a former University of Wisconsin pediatric resident, Dr. Lisa Umphrey, and does a great job providing jobs and resources in the area. They also support ethical volunteerism and host trainees like me. One of the rotation requirements is fundraising for the organization. To be clear, this is money that goes directly to ATLAS and the work it does - it does NOT support my travel costs, which I'm paying for separately. Please check out their website at http://www.atlas-international.org, and consider donating to help me reach my fundraising goal of $500!
