My name is Fred Gardner. On April 30th, I turn 95. In 1944, I was drafted into the second infantry division and fought in the second world war’s greatest battles.
We are in a different war now. The soldiers on the front lines today are healthcare workers fighting COVID-19. They lack the personal protective equipment to safely wage this war.
My birthday wish is to raise as much money as possible to support the heroes fighting this pandemic. Please donate whatever you can to protect our healthcare workers.
I am partnering with DirectRelief to provide personal protective equipment to doctors, nurses and hospital staff across the country.
DirectRelief is "working in overdrive to get protective gear and critical care medications to as many health workers as possible, as quickly as possible, with emergency deliveries leaving daily for medical facilities across the U.S."
We are working with GoFundMe.org (a 501c3 non-profit organization, EIN # 81-2279757, registered in the United States) to manage donations. All donations made on this page will be held by GoFundMe.org for the purpose of distributing such contributions to DirectRelief in support of their efforts to aid those affected by COVID-19, subject to the variance power of GoFundMe.org, as stated in its policies. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
