Rick McGregor, Founder and Executive Director of iMentor Global, has worked to better the communities of Compton, Watts, Inglewood, and South-Central Los Angeles by keeping hundreds of individuals out of gangs, off drugs, and off the streets through mentoring and support for over a decade. iMentor Global’s Fades for Grades program takes place in a casual barbershop setting, providing young men a safe and comfortable environment to interact with positive role models and be exposed to new opportunities. iMentor also has a Polish program, which provides manicures and mentorship to young women.
Rick has worked tirelessly to support his community despite facing personal challenges. A few weeks before Christmas in 2018, Rick’s home was burglarized, and his family lost a significant amount of their possessions. Instead of losing hope, Rick and his family rebuilt their home and their businesses, coming back stronger than ever.
Rick is expanding his nonprofit and establishing development strategies through a microfinancing program with Innovative Microfinance Promoting Ambition and Cultivating Talent (IMPACT). IMPACT provides resources and mentorship to entrepreneurs seeking to serve a higher purpose for the community. You can learn more about IMPACT and the stories of entrepreneurs we have helped at https://www.impactmicrofinance.org/ourimpact.
IMPACT is raising $2,500 to fund a website revamp for iMentor Global, to further showcase the organization's unique mentorship model and stories of success transforming the lives of youth. All donated funds will be used to directly support iMentor Global, furthering their mission to provide "A Safe Place to Clear Space, Igniting Change From the Inside Out".
