Bring Antiracist Books To Your Neighborhood

Rise Up Against Racism centers on the idea that education can radically transform society. We believe in the power of books to open minds, spark conversation and inspire change.

That's why we started building Little Free Antiracist Libraries, starting with four in Walnut Creek, CA. The goal of these libraries is to bring the community together, create a space for vital conversations about antiracism, and ensure that both children and adults have ready access to books that elevate Black voices and inspire us all to understand and actively dismantle racism.

We know how important it is for children and adults to engage with books that provide mirrors to their own lives and windows into others’ lived experiences. Our carefully curated selections are purchased from Black-owned bookstores like Marcus Books, that span multiple reading levels and provide sources of powerful inspiration, vital knowledge, and important lessons for humans of all ages. See the full curated list of books.

Join our campaign to expand Little Free Antiracist Libraries to communities throughout the Bay Area or donate to our general fund. Watch the story that NBC Bay Area recently did on our work.
