The key to bridging the gender gap in STEM has its foundation in education. The fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math are dominated by men in today's workforce. In fact, across the world, women account for less than a third of those employed in scientific research and development. However, in the United States, High Tech has an especially wide gender gap with a dismal percentage represented by women:· Software developers / system systems software - 18.7%, Computer network architects - 4.2%, Aerospace engineers - 8.9%.
You have the ability to help change the future face of STEM! Please contribute to support the young women in the STEM Club at Regina Dominican High School. A $500 goal will be used to augment the materials the girls have to work with: Including, but not limited to, AP Study guides, software upgrades, material for the 3D printer and more. Please help nurture the love of science that these bright young ladies possess and encourage them to pursue their passion in a STEM field.
Our target date to contribute is Sunday, March 1st. If we exceed our goal, it will enable their instructors to continue to expand the opportunites for these young women to learn and grow in the STEM fields. Thank you so much!
