Más información sobre Consejo de Federaciones Mexicanas en Norte America (Cofem): The mission of COFEM is to empower immigrant communities to be full participants in the social, political, economic, and cultural life of the United States and their home country. We accomplish this work by uniting, strengthening, and expanding our member organizations to better advocate, educate, engage, and mobilize our communities; to help realize the American Dream, preserve and share their cultural traditions and help improve the lives of families and friends in their country of origin.

Fuerza Migrante is a Binational organization (Mexico-U.S.) comprised of over 150 community leaders and organizations that work for and with Mexican and other Latino migrants in the United States, pursuing their social and economic empowerment.

We have the support of companies big and small, entrepreneurs, other civic organizations, and celebrities from the world of sports and entertainment.

We are asking for your support to donate to our Emergency Fund established to help Mexican and other Latino migrants in the United States that have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and that are ineligible to receive financial support from the CARES Act.

Donations to the Emergency Fund will go to: * Migrants that lost the head of household due to COVID-19. * Health Services (Telemedicine) for those migrants with no medical insurance or

access to health services, mainly to single mothers and fathers and their kids. *Financial support for food, pay past-due rent and other basic necessities. Mexican and Latino migrants are one of the minorities that have been affected the most by COVID-19, and especially in the New York Tri-State area, the epicenter of the pandemic in the United States.

According to data from the Department of Labor, up to 86 percent of this ethnic group do not work from home; they work in essential industries and are therefore at a higher risk of contagion. The majority of them will not receive any financial help from the Federal or State governments. Transparency and accountability are paramount to us, so out of extreme caution the monies received in the Emergency Fund will go directly to COFEM, and will be audited by the Harrington Group, both well-known and respected non-for-profit, based in California.
